I seek to provide a safe space for clients to explore, express and process their thoughts, emotions, experiences, and behaviors in a healthy, validating, and effective manner. I also ensure to empower clients that I do not define trauma for them as they have the ability to identify any dynamic as traumatic reinforcing the concept that their experiences are valid and not dependent upon the approval of external factors. I provide individual and couples counseling as my clinical focus areas are trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, grief, emotional regulation, relationship distress, life transitions, self-esteem, boundaries, inner child, vulnerability, and coaching just to name a few.
I am LGBTQ+ friendly and use a combination of evidence-based treatments, including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Psychodynamic approaches. In utilizing these approaches, we will collaborate to discover emotional and behavioral patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from living the life you desire.

Clients are supported in recognizing unhealthy patterns and discovering new ones in order to propel their lives into a more satisfactory position. Individual coaching is a cognitive and behavioral form of strengths-based support for adults living with mental health difficulties. Individual coaching is action oriented with an emphasis on improving one’s present life and reaching goals for the future. In this process, clients are an active participant in their own recovery plan, the one who decides what is worth doing, while the coach provides expertise in supporting successful change and accountability to help the client stay on track.

Communication is an important part of creating and achieving common goals within a partnership. In couple’s therapy, I take the time to understand the intricate details of each couple so that we can design a plan complete with effective tools. These tools will be used to assist couples in overcoming challenges, facilitating growth, and troubleshooting for the future while nurturing and supporting each individual. Couples are supported in the following areas: communication, goal setting, family planning, boundary establishment, infidelity, blended families, finances, parenting, supporting the individuals, establishing or reestablishing sexual intimacy, sexual exploration.

Group therapy is a type of counseling that involves meeting with a group of individuals whom all face similar concerns. Group sessions involve sharing your experiences and listening to others experiences. Group counseling provides a supportive environment to discuss problems and concerns and work toward your goals. The experience often reduces loneliness, normalizes your experiences, promotes change in meaningful ways, and helps you to learn and process new life skills.
At YESTINY Counseling and Wellness Services the groups are specific to a certain demographic or topic. As a result, groups have pre-screenings in order to ensure the group is a good fit for you and that you are a good fit for the group. Once a group is “closed” no additional members can join. This protects the safety, confidentiality, and continuity of the group as well as honors your commitment to grow and heal.
